The American Council Responds to Rep. Johnson's Winning House Speakership
Sacramento, California — Tanner DiBella, President of The American Council, released the following statement after Rep. Johnson was elected as the 56th Speaker of the House:
“After weeks of paralysis in the U.S. House, we are glad to see leadership established. We pray that Representative Johnson will use his influence and voice to strengthen families, expand religious liberty, and defend the unborn. This moment requires integrity, honesty, and accountability. We hope the Louisiana Representative leads with these qualities.”
Representative Mike Johnson currently teaches the Constitution and free enterprise at the Helms School of Government of Liberty University. Mike and his wife Kelly, a former school teacher and now a Licensed Pastoral Counselor, have been married since 1999 and have four children.
